NASHUA, N.H., Sept. 10, 2018 Today, cointext.io, a cryptocurrency wallet to transact phone-to-phone over text messages, announced the release of its upgraded service in Spanish and its expansion into three new countries including Spain, Mexico, and Chile.
CoinText enables users to send Bitcoin Cash (BCH) directly to phone numbers or BCH addresses without Internet by providing a Short Message Service (SMS) communication gateway with the blockchain. As a result, CoinText works on any text-enabled phone including old flip phones.

Users get a wallet by texting START (or INICIAR in Spanish) to their region’s local access number below, or when funds are sent to their phone by another CoinText user.

“A worker in the United States can now text cryptocurrency, denominated in dollars, in English, to a phone in Mexico where the recipient receives it denominated in Mexican pesos, in Spanish,” Armani explained. “And the recipient doesn’t need an app or wallet to receive the funds.”
In addition to new languages being added, the CoinText version 2.0 upgrade includes better security, a welcome greeting with instructions for all new users, and improvements that could allow other cryptocurrencies in the future.
CoinText now services twelve countries with more coming every week, the company said.
